August 2018 - New Album on the way.....

I'm just in the process of finishing off a new album due for release in the late Autumn 2018. Recorded at the home studio the album features a raft of new material and one or two re-recordings of older songs that have become favourites at gigs. These are 'Sea Captain's Bed' and 'Exodus' both of which were included in the 2004 collection of demos and have never been properly recorded.

New tracks feature 'The Living Dead' a moving homage to the first response team at 9/11, 'Washago' a song about lake cottage life in Ontario, Canada and 'Wishing on Stars' a song writing collaboration with local writer Tara Westover. A song about Irish folklore features Bernard Hoskin on mandolin. The remaining 2 songs are currently being completed one of which is a cover of Bernard Hoskin's 'Moving Forward'

Currently the album songs are

Living Dead

Diedre and Naoise

Wishing on Stars (Written by Rhys Wilson & Tara-Jane Westover)

Logan Sunrise

Sea Captain's Bed

Exodus (Written by Rhys Wilson & JWR Morisson)

It's a long long road

Moving Forward (Written by Bernard Hoskin)

More News to follow.......

Gordon Lightfoot EP to be recorded...

During my years of performing as a solo act I have sung a variety of songs by one of my major influences - Gordon Lightfoot.

He is 79 this year and still touring and yet many people have often asked what other songs has he written etc...

In the New Year I will be going recording 5 lesser known Lightfoot songs that I sing on and off in my set. They will be stripped down recordings - just me on vocal and guitar and a Bass - just as they would be heard live.

The EP will be available at gigs to hopefully enthuse you about Lightfoot and will include guidance on what to listen to in his long catalogue of music. I'll keep you posted.

Train to Somewhere Else Project delayed....

After embarking and a full musical studio recording of this song cycle I've decided to delay it for a year or two. There are some rewrites that need doing and I'm still searching for one or two elements to improve the impact. I'll keep you posted...
